CITIES, COUNTRIES, STATES, AND CONTINENTS

-         What is a country? It is a nation with its own government. It is a collection of cities or states.
-         What is a city? A place full of neighborhoods, people, roads, schools, zoos, and more.
-         What is a state? A collection of cities
-         What is a continent? A continent is the biggest piece of land that countries call home.
-         There are 7 continents.


LANDFORMS

-         Landforms: Pieces of land that have water and some other geological activities.

1)  Volcano: A landform that has an opening or vent at the top, and that spews lava, steam, and pieces of rocks.
2)  Canyon: A landform that has very steep sides that were cut by a river’s erosion.
3)  Waterfall: A sharp drop off of water in a river
4)  Plains: A broad (large) space under the sky. You get this landform when oceans run dry.
5)  Mountains: The tallest landform of all with a spiky or pointy top.
6)  River: A large natural stream or flow of water flowing in a channel to the sea, lake or another river.
7)  Cave: A landform that is found on a side of a mountain or a hole in the ground
8)  Ocean: A huge chunk of water that takes up ¾ of the earth, and that is salty
9)  Valley: A low area between hills or mountains often with a river running through it
10)     Island: A land surrounded by water
11)     Delta: A triangular shaped land that is near the ocean
12)     Lake: A large area of water surrounded by land. Some could even go fishing in a lake
13)     Hill: A Raised area of land that looks like a small mountain
14)     Continent: A great landmass of the earth. There are 7 continents.
